About Us
Jonathan Edwards is . . .

Dedicated to Service.  Unlike other attorneys, who may have attended law school as part of a long period of uninterrupted education early in life, Jonathan first served his country in  the United States Air Force from 1973 until 1992.  Jonathan has also been an Immigration Inspector and a hospital nursing administrator.

Experienced in Life.  During his Air Force service, Jonathan served on tactical response teams for security and anti-terror, and supervised weapons training programs.  He was an anti-terror sniper, and a shooting coach for competitive sharpshooters. (Yeah, just what you want - a lawyer with a gun!) On his departure from military service in 1992, during which he obtained the rank of Master Sergeant, he attended college at Southern Oregon University, obtaining a degree in History, with an emphasis on Islamic History, furthering his knowledge of the current world situation. Divorced while in the Air Force, he has two grown daughters still out west, as well as very cute grandchildren, and a wife and son with him in his home in Vermillion, South Dakota.  Deep family roots brought him to South Dakota to obtain his law degree and make a permanent home.  Jonathan was a paralegal before he was an attorney.  He is also an experienced Little League baseball and softball umpire, and he's not afraid to make the difficult call.

Conservative.  Face it, you need an attorney with old-fashioned values.  It's time to trust the guy in the hat.

Company history
Boldly going where others dare not, Jonathan stepped out on his own in perilous economic times to put a law firm where it is needed, in the heart of southern Union County.  The firm first opened for business in October of 2008.

Divorce, bankruptcy, juvenile and elder law, health care issues.  Adoption.  End of life issues.    If it has to do with your family, I want to help you.  (I don't do taxes.)
